Our mission

The Mission of the IWGEPP is to work towards socially responsible public procurement becoming a natural and integrated part of public procurement processes in countries around the world.

Our objectives

The IWGEPP has four aligned objectives:

1.  To promote public procurement policy as a tool to social sustainability

2. To support public procurement practice that helps to prevent human rights violations, and thus facilitate market growth in social sustainability

3. To share best practice in socially responsible public procurement

4. To explore opportunities for collective activity and where appropriate, undertake collaborative action to maximise the leverage that public contracting authorities have.

Through these objectives, to ensure and enable the protection of human rights and decent working conditions in global supply chains for public goods and services.

The primary focus of the IWGEPP is on workers rights and freedoms, however, where environmental aspects are felt by the group to be of relevance to this focus, they may choose to incorporate appropriate aspects of environmental concern.
